Donna Child has been a leading figure in Toronto’s arts and culture scene for more than thirty years. As the owner and gallery director of Donna Child Fine Art Gallery (DCFA), she has cultivated a distinguished career defined by fine art expertise, curatorial innovation, and a commitment to advancing Canadian and international artistic discourse.

After more than two decades as Gallery Director at Artworld Fine Art, Donna established her own gallery in 2020. Situated in west Toronto, the 7,200 sq. ft. space has become a dynamic hub for collectors and art enthusiasts alike, presenting a meticulously curated selection of Canadian and international painters, sculptors, and photographers. Renowned for hosting museum-quality exhibitions, DCFA also provides specialized services in art collection management, conservation, appraisals, and custom framing, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination in the art world.

Donna is deeply committed to fostering inclusivity in the arts. Through culturally diverse exhibitions, public workshops, and educational events, she strives to make art accessible to a broad audience. As a founding member of the Toronto West Arts Collaborative, she actively supports emerging artists by offering opportunities for education, networking, and exhibitions.

A significant aspect of Donna’s career has been her profound connection to Toller Cranston (1949–2015), the internationally celebrated artist and figure skating pioneer. Their meeting early in Donna’s career sparked a dynamic 25-year professional relationship. Toller’s fearless creativity and authenticity left a lasting impression on Donna, shaping her curatorial approach and deepening her commitment to championing bold artistic expression.

Under Donna’s leadership, DCFA has become the exclusive brick-and-mortar representative for Toller Cranston’s art. She has curated several high-profile exhibitions celebrating Toller’s legacy, including a landmark showcase at the Museum of Northern History in Kirkland Lake—where Toller first learned to skate—and a retrospective at the Art Gallery of Ontario during his memorial service. These exhibitions have highlighted Toller’s evolution as an artist and his transformative influence on art and culture.

Donna also curated an acclaimed exhibition featuring Cylla von Tiedemann, one of Canada’s most prominent performance photographers, whose career was profoundly impacted by her collaboration with Toller. This project exemplifies Donna’s dedication to promoting Canadian talent and preserving meaningful artistic narratives.

In 2016, Donna organized a major sale of Toller Cranston’s estate paintings, bringing his work to collectors around the globe. Today, she continues to champion his legacy through her work with Toller International, curating gallery exhibitions, facilitating global sales, and ensuring that Toller Cranston’s artistic brilliance and cultural impact are recognized and celebrated by new generations. Her unwavering dedication cements Tollers place as a visionary whose creativity and courage inspire audiences worldwide.
